Brag books and self awareness

I was in a workshop recently that told us all to complete a brag book.

Here’s the template:

  • The traits I admire myself for are…
  • I feel empowered when…
  • I feel appreciated when…
  • My friends would tell you I have a great…
  • The place I feel most like myself is…
  • The person I admire the most is…
  • I know I will reach my goals because I am…
  • I’ve been successful at…
  • I have a natural talent for…
  • I feel peaceful when…

These all feel pretty cliche and lame at first glance. But, at least to me, they’re really hard to answer.

Do you know what you admire about yourself? When you feel peaceful? The person you admire the most? Can you answer those questions and feel confident about them?

I don’t have the self awareness I thought I had, which I guess is the point.
