Good life advice is boring

The first Google results for “tips for a better life” points here which lists these seven:

  1. Eat nourishing food
  2. Sleep seven to eight hours per night
  3. Keep company with good people
  4. Avoid news overdose
  5. Get regular exercise
  6. Do something meaningful each day
  7. Think good thoughts for others

It’s all the most boring, cliched advice I can imagine. Yet I don’t think to check myself against those seven things when I’m not feeling happy.

Cliched advice is cliched for a reason. It’s how we can find our baseline.
