(Let’s ignore the fact that high output doesn’t necessarily mean high value, because that’s a separate discussion).
The name of the game is to create the most output with the least input and time. So it all comes down to maximizing leverage.
I heard a podcast at some point about a leader who created screen recordings all the time as a habit, whenever he did a task. He called it the camcorder method, I think? Then he’d hand recordings off to someone and ask them to create a playbook out of them. This served two purposes:
- Now he’s got a playbook so that anyone can do that task in the future
- He could gauge the person’s competency in that task by reading the playbook
I love that. Anything not written down or recorded is a missed opportunity for higher leverage.
