If you want someone to buy into something, you need to be bought in first. If you aren’t bought in, then you can’t take ownership. And without ownership, you find yourself saying “they” instead of “we”.
Convince yourself first, then convince others. And if you aren’t convinced, then do whatever you need to do to get convinced. Get curious and ask the dumb questions, the rude questions, the weird questions. If the answers aren’t satisfying, then move past curious and into downright obnoxious.
Your team can tell when you don’t believe in something. And they’ll be biased against it from the start.
