Mr. Rogers, the king of psychological safety

Things Mr. Rogers said:

  • “I don’t think anyone can grow unless he’s loved exactly as he is now.”
  • “I like you just the way you are.”
  • “The greatest gift you ever give is your honest self.”
  • “Won’t you be my neighbor?”

It’s belonging cues all the way down. Kids loved him because he made them feel accepted. And he used that to challenge them to grow and be their best. Mr. Rogers would have made a good manager.
