Read this article if you need convincing. TL;DR:
- Ultraviolet A causes aging and Ultraviolet B causes burning. Think: A for aging, B for burning.
- Glass doesn’t block UVA rays. The sun’s making your skin age even when you’re sitting around in your house!
- Clouds don’t block either UVA or UVB. A cloudy day doesn’t help you. All hope is lost.
So wear sunscreen every day, no matter what you’re doing and no matter what type of skin you have. If you have skin, wear sunscreen. And if you don’t have skin, then you may wanna find some.
Now that you’re convinced, you’ll have to pick one. There are chemical and mineral/physical sunscreens.
The key difference between these types of sunscreens lies in how they block rays. Physical (mineral) sunscreens sit on the surface of your skin and act as a shield, while chemical sunscreens sink into your skin and act more like a sponge.
There’s some debate about which type is best, but the main thing is finding one you won’t mind using every day. So grab yourself something with SPF 30 or more and use it every dang day.
