Writing tasty tasks

A tasty task is one that makes you want to do it, and doesn’t fill you with “ugh”.

Which if these looks tastier to you?

• “New tires”
• “Call 555-555-1234 and make an appointment Thursday morning for new tires”

I love a task that doesn’t make me think.

This post says there are three components of a tasty task:

1. Start with a verb
2. Keep it short
3. Make it clear and specific

Spending 10 more seconds making your tasks tastier may be the thing that gets you to actually do them.
