What writing looks like without the words

Check out this fascinating post about what novels look like with only the punctuation left. Example:

Punctuation in Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy (left) and in Absalom, Absalom! by William Faulkner (right).

I found out through this post about how we can get some insight into our own style by doing that to our own writing.

Here’s all the punctuation from one of my longer posts:

,.-,.,-,.,’.’,..,.,,,…….,’..,’…’:“’!”,’:“!”“”.’-.’-.’.’’…’.’:,.,’.’,.,.,..,,’.“%”.’-.’’..,’..’,’.,,??’?–…,..’.?’.

Apparently I use a lot of quotes and contractions.
