Obviously I’m a big fan of writing as thinking. But when you can’t write, and you don’t have someone around to listen to you, the voice memo is a beautiful thing.
Examples:
- Sitting in traffic and you’re pondering the best solution to a problem at work? Talk through it into a voice memo.
- On a walk and you’re stressed but you don’t know why? Spout a stream of consciousness into a voice memo.
- Cooking dinner and you’re thinking about what you want to say to that person who upset you earlier? Vent into a voice memo.
You’ll probably never listen to it and that’s fine. It’s just permission to talk through something without feeling like a weirdo talking to yourself.
