“I’ll get back to a healthy diet once my life is a bit more normal.”
“This week was weird, but I’ll exercise more next week when things are more normal.”
“It’ll be easier for me to read that book once things calm down a bit.”
Such an easy trap to fall into. I’m in the middle of it right now. Kids are out of school for the summer, we had vacation last week, this week there’s a lot of shuttling them to and from art camp, it’s raining a lot, furniture is being delivered today, blah blah blah.
All very nice reasons to not do all the things I say I want to do. Because next week will be more normal! Art camp will be over, vacation is done, the weather is clearing up; I’ll get back to my routine then!
But next week won’t be normal either. Something else will come up. A “normal week” is actually pretty abnormal.
Don’t wait for a normal week or you’ll be waiting a long time. Be the person who sticks to the routine even when everything is weird.
