- What does this person do that you find remarkable?
- What about this person do you brag about to other people?
- What’s one thing this person did that made your relationship with them stronger?
- What’s one thing this person did that made the team more effective?
- What has this person done recently that made you trust them a little bit more?
- What has this person done recently that improved your day?
- What’s a specific way this person has demonstrated reliability?
- What has this person done recently that saved you time or frustration?
Remember that positive feedback is not the same as praise. Positive feedback is about behavior change: you want them to do more of something good in the future. You’re not just giving them a compliment.
Phrase it using SBI: situation, behavior, impact. Here’s a template:
At/during ____ (situation), when you ____ed (behavior), what happened was ____ (impact).
