I wrote about my ideal week before, but for work I just had big blocks that said “work”. Super helpful.
So here’s my ideal WORK week:

Blue = meeting, grey = time block, green = social, yellow = exercise.
A few takeaways:
- I only want to work at an actual computer about 30 hours a week, apparently.
- The working workout is still a favorite of mine for work beyond those 30 hours.
- All of this only works if I strictly schedule Slack. Otherwise it’ll eat up all those grey blocks.
- 7-8 hours of meetings per week seems ideal, which means:
- Moving from weekly to bi-weekly 1-1s with all of my direct reports is a must to pull this off
- Pushing async culture HARD and declining meetings right and left
- I want meetings earlier in the day I can do afternoon deep work without the knowledge that I have a meeting coming up weighing on me.
I’m going to see how close I can get to it. 🤞
